A festive installation of officers and directors of all of the branches of the Los Angeles District of the Italian Catholic Federation took place recently at Holy Family Parish Center in Arcadia. Newly elected officers and directors of the St. Bede Branch 374 in La Cañada Flintridge celebrated the event as Phyllis Harb and her newly elected team were sworn in by national officers who traveled to the San Gabriel Valley to officially welcome and swear in the St.Bede group as well as officers of 25 local branches in Southern California. Perry Shuko, LA District president from Downey led the happy occasion aided by Theresa Sabatella Shaw, a member of the Central Council, along with Southern Californian Shurko. Shaw is an officer of the Holy Family branch 108 in South Pasadena.
St. Bede officers and guests enjoyed a sumptuous lunch. Standing from left t are Phyllis Harb, elected president for a two-year term; Recording Secretary Gloria McGaughey, Second Vice President Lila Nastro, Trustees Robert and Jo Barbera (Ms. Barbera is the publisher of Italo-Americano, a national newspaper). Seated are Corresponding Secretary and Membership Chairperson Diane Restivo, Orator and Communication Chairperson Al Restivo (Mr. Restivo served three past terms as far back as 1988 as president of the branch and is a currently LA Region Trustee of the LA District); Immediate two-term Past President Mark Mannarelli, and currently reelected treasurer; Emy Mannarelli, and First Vice President Raul Acevedo. Not pictured were Financial Secretary Robert De Pietro, and trustees Joel Wynton and Maria delSalguero.
