On Feb. 21 an armed robbery occurred at Home Depot in the 5000 block of San Fernando Road in Glendale. Within the first hour of the store opening a male entered the location and immediately began looking for the store manager. Once he found the manger, the suspect lifted his shirt revealing a firearm and ordered the manager to open the vault.
The suspect reportedly loaded money from the safe into an orange Home Depot bucket and fled out of the store via an emergency exit. When Glendale police officers arrived they were unable to locate the male.
GPD robbery/homicide detectives began an investigation and identified, with help from surveillance video of the incident, a 47-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga. He was arrested within 48hours. During the arrest detectives reportedly located a replica firearm, several thousands of dollars in cash and an orange Home Depot bucket.
The suspect was arrested on Feb. 23 and is being held without bail. His court date is Feb. 28.
