Night time rainy weather most likely played a part in the felling of a Eucalyptus tree on the corner of Highridge and Cloudcrest avenues.
Residents awoke to a crashing noise shortly after midnight on Saturday when the estimated 100 foot tree toppled, blocking a resident’s driveway and preventing pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
According to public works, the call was received about 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Crews arrived with chainsaws and a bulldozer to remove the tree. After several hours, the tree was removed and the roadway reopened.
