ST Forward will present the 3rd Annual Foothills Pride festival on Saturday, June 3 at Sunland Park, 8651 Foothill Blvd. in Sunland from noon to 4 p.m. Foothill residents will come together to celebrate LGBTQ+ neighbors and to assert LGBT+ people’s right to thrive, be respected, protected and loved in every community.
The festival has gained much community support with a VIP lineup to open the event that includes Senator Anthony Portantino, Senator Caroline Menjivar, Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, and president of the Los Angeles School Board President Kelly Gonez. The event will feature many talented artists such as spoken word artist Tiff, musicians Elizabeth Setzer and Monnize Wolff, performer Elektra LaKill, and The Village Poets. ST Forward will award the first Caroline Menjivar High School Scholarship Award to a local high school graduate in honor of local LGBTQ+ student leaders and of newly elected State Senator Caroline Menjivar.
The event will feature many organizations, resources and booths, including the Los Angeles County Dept. of Mental Health, El Proyecto del Barrio, La Vida Care, Council District 7, Los Angeles Public Library and The Knowledge House, to name a few. Food will be provided by El Mariachi Loco and Dutch Treats & Sweets.
