La Cañada Presbyterian’s Parent Education program donated to Elizabeth House and Harambee Ministries, both located in Pasadena, resources for spiritual and personal development. Books included devotionals in both English and Spanish, children’s Bibles, books for marriage/relationships and books to support personal growth. In addition to providing these resources, Parent Ed is currently collaborating with both non-profit organizations to create parent education courses for their specific programs. Parent Ed staff is excited to work with both groups to support even more families.

Book donations are funded through the Erskine Compassion Memorial, which was created in 2018 in honor of Cathy and Christopher Erskine with the aim of providing support to individuals and families in need. Contributions can be made to this ongoing fund online at https://bit.ly/PARENTEDGALA23 or by check made out to LCPC Parent Ed with designation “Erskine Compassion Memorial” in memo. Checks can be dropped off or mailed to LCPC Parent Ed, 626 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada, CA 91011.

Elizabeth House provides shelter and services for pregnant women and their children experiencing homelessness. In its mission, it states that through shelter and lifelong support, Elizabeth House empowers pregnant and parenting women in need to reclaim their lives and build successful family legacies.

Harambee has a mission to nurture and equip leadership that will holistically minister to the community by sharing biblical truths in order to achieve the rebuilding of urban neighborhoods through relocation, reconciliation, and redistribution.

Entering its 45^th year of helping families thrive, Parent Ed offers classes for parents and grandparents of babies to young adults. The program provides quality education, friendships and community.
