Plenty to See and Do (and Hear) at Cruise Night

Thousands were expected and thousands came to Brand Boulevard on the night of Saturday, July 15 for the annual Cruise Night. Some came to learn more about local organizations, like “The Donut Guy” realtor Justin Jenewein (who had plenty of donuts for guests). Personnel from Glendale Area Schools Credit Union were also on hand to answer questions. Members of Friends of Rockhaven had a booth to share the status of the historic property.

But the stars of the night were the vehicles. Whether classic or vintage, standard or “movie star,” cars, motorcycles and more could be seen (and ogled) along the boulevard.

According to Brian “Mr. Rock N’ Roll” Beirne, the evening was a huge success.

“This was one of the biggest Cruise Nights in our 28-year history,” he said. “Four hundred classic [vehicles] this year and a crowd of nearly 45,000.”

In addition to the vehicles, there was live music and the evening ended with a dynamic fireworks show indicating that folks should mark their calendar for next year’s show.
