Spiritual Growth at St. Bede

St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church has created opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection for the Lenten season for all residents of the La Cañada Flintridge community beginning with daily mass in the main church Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Liturgy of the hours is also offered Monday through Friday at 7:50 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel is offered daily at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. with special times on Mondays at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Wednesdays at noon and 5:30 p.m.

A Lenten Scripture Series with reflections on the readings for the coming Sunday is offered on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the John 23 room on March 21 and March 28 and April 4. A Woman’s Bible Study on Wednesdays is held in the Parish Center from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The popular soup and cinema series is held each Wednesday in the John 23 Room from 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on March 23-30 and April 13.

Stations of the Cross will be held at 1:45 p.m. on Fridays and 6 p.m. No evening stations on April 15 due to the Fish and Forgiveness service.

Members of the community, regardless of denomination, are always welcome at St. Bede, especially during the Lenten season.

La Cañada Presbyterian Hosting Guest, Classes

All are invited to the second in a four-session series of classes about “Being one of Christ’s people in the world.” La Cañada Presbyterian Church is offering these classes that are an overview of the basics of our faith.

The third class has Rev. Kristin Leucht leading a discussion of how to discover the right resources for helping of a deepening of faith. Join Leucht on Sunday, March 20 form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in Room 308 of the Demarest Family Life Center.

Finally, Rev. Jim Milley leads an experience that will help identify a path for learning and growing to represent Christ well at home, work and all places. This final class takes place on Friday, March 25, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 309 of the Demarest Family Life Center.

Upcoming Events at Center For Spiritual Living – La Crescenta

On Friday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m., the community is invited to a St. Patrick’s Day dinner of corned beef, cabbage and all the trimmings plus singing Irish songs together!

Come join us for a fun evening. The cost is $15 for adults; $12 for children 6-12; under 5, free.

Rev. Steve of the Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta will be speaking this Sunday on Living your Dream. He will follow up on Wednesday with Supporting Your Dreams and on March 30 with Believing in Your Dreams.

The Center also offers meditation with Gina DaVanzo on Monday nights from 7 p.m.  to 8 p.m.
