4400 block of Bel Aire Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported discovering a white surveillance camera concealed in a bush near the front driveway of her residence. The camera was pointed toward the front windows and doors of the home, giving the viewer access to the inside of her home. The residents searched the area and discovered numerous battery packs powering the camera. The resident removed the memory card from the surveillance camera and placed it into her computer. The camera had been surveilling the victim’s home since Aug. 27. It was found the battery packs had been glued together and wrapped in camouflage tape.
The camera was discovered at 5 p.m.
5500 block of Godbey Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, the rear passenger side window was shattered and backpacks had been gone through in a vehicle between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Aug. 31
Hill Street and Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, the rear window of a vehicle was shattered between 10:05 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
4400 block of Briggs Avenue in Montrose, a resident met a person, the suspect, who reportedly told her he could fix her credit score. However, the suspect did not help her credit score improve and did not provide appropriate service. The victim’s husband contacted the suspect and shared his dissatisfaction with his performance.
They contacted each other using the “WhatsApp” messenger service. The suspect became upset by the victim complaining and told the victim to step outside his house for a face-to-face meeting. The victim stepped outside his home to find the suspect sitting in the driver’s seat of the suspect’s vehicle. An argument between the victim and suspect ensued regarding the credit repair service. At one point the suspect told the victim to approach his vehicle so they could hear each other without arguing. The victim walked to the driver’s side window and the suspect suddenly struck the victim in the face. The suspect’s vehicle door was shut; he threw the punch through the open window. The victim, in an attempt to protect himself, attempted to grab the suspect. But the suspect avoided being grabbed and “slowly” drove away. The victim reached in and grabbed the suspect’s seatbelt as the vehicle drove slowly away. The vehicle continued to move for about 10 feet, as the victim continued to hold onto the seatbelt, until the vehicle stopped and the victim released the grip on the seatbelt and the driver drove away.
The incident occurred at 10 p.m.
Sept. 1
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman who was shopping inside a store at the location found her wallet missing from her purse when she went to the cashier to pay for her items. She did not see anyone near her while she was shopping.
The theft occurred between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Aug. 30
4400 block of La Granada Way in La Cañada Flintridge, a computer laptop was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
1200 block of El Vago Street in La Cañada Flintridge, items were stolen from a home under construction between 4 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.
