California Highway Patrol responded to a car fire at 10:36 this morning, Sunday, Oct. 8, on the 2 South Freeway just north of the Mountain Street exit.

The number one lane is open. All other lanes are closed for an undetermined amount of time. The fire has spread to the hillside; Glendale fire and police have responded.

No injuries have been reported.
