Police Activity Near Valley View Elementary and Clark Magnet

GPD officers responded to a call for service earlier today in the 3300 block of Reta St. in La Crescenta. After arriving, they learned there was a deceased person in a house and a resident was wanted for murder, according to a GPD spokesman.

Nearby streets are being cordoned off; Valley View Elementary School and Clark Magnet High School have issued a shelter-in-place/lockdown. People with students in those schools are advised to contact that school for information regarding the release of students.

Valley View Elementary School and Clark Magnet High School have issued a shelter-in-place/lockdown due to the police activity in the area:

Out of an abundance of caution we have initiated a shelter in place, are monitoring the situation and are in communication with GPD. Students are remaining in class as instruction continues.

A “critical incident” is occurring near the area of Valley View Elementary School and Clark Magnet High School. Neither GUSD nor Glendale police have further information though a Glendale police spokesman stated the incident was not at a school.
