Residents of Crescenta Valley, mark your calendars for the upcoming Crescenta Valley Town Council (CVTC) meeting ‪on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. One of the highlights of the meeting will be a presentation on Flock cameras for our community. These cameras can provide valuable surveillance and security for our neighborhoods, so be sure to attend to learn more about this important topic.

The hearing for proposed changes to the current multifamily parking ordinance has been rescheduled to April. As some of you may not be aware, there has been a push for the County to reduce or eliminate off-street parking requirements as an incentive for developers of multifamily units. This is in response to the demand to create housing in our state. We understand the impact this may have on many of our already congested streets and we are working hard to address concerns and find solutions that work for everyone in our community. 

Additionally, we are actively monitoring the opening of residential rehabilitation facilities in our communities and are conveying this information to the County. It is important for us to stay informed and engaged in these matters to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.

Last month representatives from LA County Dept. of Health were at the CVTC meeting in response to community complaints about sidewalk food vendors. CVTC continues to be in communication as needed with the County and will continue to follow the proposed first of its kind Compact Mobile Food Operation ordinance for Unincorporated LA County. 

The CVTC Outreach Committee is planning upcoming events on the drug crisis, home safety and creating a neighborhood watch in the wake of an uptick of residential break-ins. Please be on the lookout for more information on how to attend. 

Lastly, we recently participated in the Prom Plus barbecue at the open house at CVHS. It was a great opportunity to connect with students and parents and promote safe and responsible behavior during prom season.
