The Glendale Quilt Guild had a very successful bingo event on Saturday, March 16 at the Verdugo Hills Memorial Hall (American Legion) with over 140 people attending.
The bingo winners received not just a cash prize but also a one-of-a-kind handmade quilt. The fun night raised needed funds for the Quilt Guild.
Bingo has become a popular fundraiser with more events in the future including “Purple Pig Bingo,” sponsored by the Glendale Elks Lodge #1289 on March 28. The pack of 10 bingo sheets is $20, and all bingo winners receive $100 though multiple winners of a particular game share the $100 prize. The price for dinner is $10 and will be served at 5 p.m. with games beginning at 6 p.m.
This bingo will benefit CHEA (The California Hawaii Elks Association, serving children with disabilities). The Elks Lodge is located at 120 E. Colorado St. in Glendale.
Another bingo is being held on April 20 at the Verdugo Hills Memorial Hall benefitting Crescenta Valley High School Prom Plus. The 30-year non-profit gives seniors and their guests a safe place to go after prom. All funds raised will go directly to the Prom Plus event taking place on May 18.
