April 12

800 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a person/s smashed the driver’s window and ransacked the interior of a company vehicle between 9:40 a.m. and 9:50 a.m.

 

2500 block of Manhattan Avenue in Montrose, a man parked his vehicle at the location and when he returned found the trunk was open and the battery in the trunk was disconnected. He also found the front passenger side window was shattered and items were stolen from the interior of the car.

The incident occurred between April 12-14.

 

April 11

5500 block of Vista Canada Place in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported hearing a “bang” sound coming from the bedroom at the rear of the residence. She walked to the bedroom and witnessed two men in front of the patio door. There was a hole in the window; she yelled at the suspects. She heard another bang and saw the two suspects run toward the front of the house. She noticed the patio glass door had been shattered. She then heard a car accelerating. Suspect 1 was described as a male adult about 6’ tall with a medium build; he was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants. Suspect 2 was described as a male adult, about 5’10” tall with a medium build. At the time he was wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt.

The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m.

 

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, an employee reported witnessing two suspects enter the store, walk to the liquor aisle and place bottles of alcohol into their pants. The suspects remained in the store for about 15 to 20 minutes before they exited with the stolen merchandise without attempting to pay for the items.

Suspect 1 was described as a Black male in his early 30s, tall and heavy-set who had short black hair. At the time he was wearing a dark colored shirt and grey pants. Suspect 2 was described as a Black male in his 30s, tall with a heavy-set build and had his black hair tied into a ponytail. At the time he was wearing a white T-shirt and ripped blue jeans.

The theft occurred at 8:12 p.m.

 

2200 block of Crescent Avenue in Montrose, after finding his vehicle vandalized, a man viewed surveillance footage of the area and witnessed a male adult wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts who had a black backpack. The suspect was waving something in the air and talking to someone inside what the man believed was a tow truck. After an investigation by deputies, a witness was found who stated he had received a phone call requesting a tow for a vehicle. The vehicle was described as the victim’s car.

When the tow truck driver arrived he was met by a man, later identified as Suspect 1, who walked to his truck then sat inside. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic wearing a black Adidas brand baseball hat, sunglasses, a black sweater, black pants, green/white shoes, and wearing a black backpack. The witness stated it appeared the man was under the influence and that he was drinking a beer.

The suspect asked the witness to tow the car from its present location to an address in Sunland. The witness asked for identification that this was in fact the suspect’s vehicle but the suspect became agitated and exited the truck. The suspect then grabbed a large rock and began hitting the victim’s vehicle. He then ripped off the front license plate of the vehicle and kicked the rear driver’s side bumper. The witness then saw the suspect walk through several nearby lawns; he recorded the suspect’s actions and contacted law enforcement. It is the witness’ belief the suspect was at first attempting to steal the victim’s vehicle.

The incident occurred at 4:15 p.m.
