May Recap & June Preview: A Month of Community Engagement and Celebrations!
The past month has been full of activities for the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce marked by several significant events that brought our community together.
We kicked off the month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Laviedove Boutique where a great turnout celebrated the opening of this charming store. Laviedove hosted a delightful event, with delicious food and their wonderful selection of children’s items, making it hard for many to resist a bit of shopping. Following this, we partnered with YMCA of the Foothills and Think Real Estate for a free neighborhood shredding event, which saw participation from over 100 community members. It was a busy and successful event highlighting our collective effort to promote secure and sustainable practices.
The Montrose Vietnam War Memorial ceremony, held on May 27 at the corner of Ocean View Boulevard and Honolulu Avenue, was a deeply meaningful occasion. It provided an opportunity to remember and honor the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives in military service to our country.
Another highlight of the month was the 55th anniversary fiesta for J’s Maintenance. With approximately 120 attendees, the night was filled with joy and celebration. We extend our gratitude to J’s Maintenance for consistently hosting such vibrant and fun-filled events.
We also celebrated the opening of the new MSPA headquarters and GPD substation at 3808 Ocean View Blvd. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this significant addition to our community infrastructure. Looking ahead, we are excited for the grand opening ribbon cutting of Animus Grappling on Thursday, June 20, from noon to 1 p.m. We hope to see you there as we continue to support and celebrate our local businesses and community initiatives.
