The City of Glendale Public Works Dept. announced the recruitment of two transportation and parking student commissioners to serve as vital voices in the community’s transportation initiatives.
This unique opportunity invites dedicated students to contribute directly to shaping the future of transportation and parking policies in Glendale. The selected student commissioners will serve a one-year term and work alongside experienced professionals to provide insights, perspectives and innovative ideas that reflect the needs of Glendale’s diverse population.

Key Responsibilities of the Transportation and Parking Student Commissioner include:
- Collaborating with city officials and stakeholders to address transportation challenges and improve parking strategies.
- Advocating for sustainable and equitable transportation solutions that benefit all residents.
- Engaging with the community to analyze feedback and recommendations on transportation-related issues.
- Participating in meetings, workshops, and events to contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must reside in the City of Glendale at the time of application and during incumbency.
- Must be a student attending high school or college at the time of appointment.
- Must be 25 years of age or younger at the time of appointment.
- Must be available during commission meeting dates and times.
- Must be able to commit a minimum of two hours of meeting time and two hours of preparation time per month.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation to attend Commission meetings.

- Resume
- Two letters of recommendation
- Statement of interest (250-500 words)
- And if under the age of 18, students must submit Principal Approval Form confirming the ability to fulfill the commitment.
