Liquan Zheng of La Cañada Flintridge, majoring in media arts production and is a member of the Class of 2025, and Sam Kellman of Glendale 91208, majoring in media arts production and is a member of the Class of 2024, were named to Emerson College’s dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester. The requirement to make dean’s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

Emerson College is based in Boston, Massachusetts has approximately 4,161undergraduates and 554 graduate students from across the United States and nearly 70 countries. James Cartnal of La Crescenta excelled during the spring 2024 semester at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean’s list. James’ major is sports media.

LaSaundra Gibson of La Crescenta was among the undergraduate, adult degree and graduate level students who received diplomas from George Fox University at its spring graduation ceremony. Gibson earned a master of arts in spiritual formation.

More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Oregon, and at teaching centers in Portland and Redmond, Oregon. George Fox offers more than 60 undergraduate academic programs, degree-completion programs for working adults, seven seminary degrees, and 14 masters and doctoral degrees.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to more than 5,700 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 266th commencement exercises. Among the graduates were: Orion Burl of La Cañada and Rodrick Lekey of Glendale 91208.

Tyler Carlson, child of Torie and Craig Carlson of La Crescenta, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. Carlson graduated from the McKelvey School of Engineering with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. 

Carlson was among the approximately 3,400 students who received degrees at the university’s 163rd commencement ceremony, which was held on Francis Olympic Field on the Danforth Campus. 

Washington University in St. Louis draws students to St. Louis from more than 110 countries and all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands. The total student body is more than 16,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

The university offers more than 90 programs and almost 1,500 courses leading to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in a broad spectrum of traditional and interdisciplinary fields, with additional opportunities for minor concentrations and individualized programs.

Christy Davis from La Cañada Flintridge received a degree in doctor of nursing practice and Lori Laddaran from Tujunga received a degree of doctor of medicine from Quinnipiac University during commencement ceremonies held in May.

Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university enrolls 9,000 students in 110 degree programs through its Schools of Business, Communications, Education, Computing and Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and the College of Arts and Sciences.
