 A solo vehicle traveling at a reported high rate of speed collided on Wednesday morning with an electric utility pole at the west end of the 2800 block of Altura Avenue in La Crescenta. The avenue is a cul-de-sac that ends at the entrance to the Crescenta Valley High School track and field. Calls came into California Highway Patrol at 9:04 a.m. concerning the accident. No injuries were reported and Southern California Edison was called due to the extreme damage to the pole.

The collision is under investigation by CHP.
