The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge (CCLCF) has partnered with NASA Services for its 31st annual food drive. Decorated donation bins will be available at CCLCF, LCF schools and select businesses throughout LCF including Gelsons, Sprouts, La Cañada Congregational Church, Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital, La Cañada Pet Clinic, Caltech Federal Credit Union, Citizens Business Bank, Allen Lund Co. and Rose Gold Fitness. Donations of soups, canned vegetables, pasta, boxed milk, cereal, baby formula, juice boxes,
granola bars, rice and other non-perishable foods are needed. Food donations will be given to Sue’s Garden in La Crescenta for distribution to local families in need.
Last year 45 bins of food were collected, which helped feed 150 families.
Food can also be brought to the Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Mile on Thursday, Nov. 28. The professionally timed 5K race begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. at Olberz Park in LCF. The Kids’ Mile Run, also professionally timed, is a family-fun event for children 12 and under. It will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Community Center is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. For more information on the Thanksgiving Day Run and Food Drive visit CCLCF.org/run or call the main office at (818) 790-4353.
