NEWS FROM THE CVTC

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I reflect on the importance of gratitude and the collaborative spirit within the Crescenta Valley Town Council. Unexpectedly transitioning from vice president to president has given me valuable insights into the significance of teamwork and community involvement. I am incredibly thankful for the support of the executive committee – Vice President Jeffrey Rodriguez, Corresponding Secretary Kerri Bräutigam, Recording Secretary Daniel Kim, Treasurer Donna Libra, chairlady of Streets and Roads Committee Dede Mueller and chairlady of the Land Use Committee Ines Chessum. Their dedication and commitment play a crucial role in planning and executing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Crescenta Valley is gearing up for the holidays with the 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. This is a great event for everyone. Supervisor Kathryn Barger will attend and music and treats will be available for everyone courtesy of Friends of the Library. The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be followed by the 46th Annual Montrose Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7, which begins promptly at 6:10 p.m.

Participating in these hometown events highlights our council’s commitment to creating engaging experiences for the community. We encourage families to come out and enjoy the holiday cheer.

I also want to remind everyone of our meeting at the La Crescenta Library next Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. This meeting will be an important opportunity to discuss pressing issues, share ideas and explore new initiatives. Your input is crucial in shaping our agenda and addressing the needs of our community.

As your council members, we are residents just like you and we volunteer our time in addition to our other commitments. The responsibilities associated with our roles can often feel as demanding as a full-time job. We are here because we care about our community and want to contribute positively to its growth and well-being. While it is perfectly natural to have differing opinions on various issues, I encourage everyone to recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into our efforts. A spirit of gratitude and respect can foster a more constructive dialogue within our community.

Remember that our council members are here to listen, learn and serve you. We value your perspectives and appreciate your engagement, even when opinions vary. We can create an environment that encourages collaboration and understanding by supporting one another and expressing our thoughts thoughtfully. Together we can celebrate our collective efforts and work toward making Crescenta Valley an even better place to live.

Thank you for your continued engagement and support, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Frida Baghdassarian, J.D.
