The community is invited to Crescenta Valley High School for a Visual and Performing Arts  (VAPA) performance on April 21.

Visual and Performing Art students from Choral Music, Instrumental Music, Dance, Drama, Art, Photography, Design, Advanced Art, Ceramics, Cinematography and Graphic Arts have joined together to share their talents with fellow students and the community.

It is the first time all the arts have joined for one performance, said Sue Corey, department chair.

All areas of the school’s artistic endeavors will be covered at this one night event. An assembly will be held earlier on that Thursday for all high school students, but Corey said the department wanted to share the work of these talented students with the community.

It will allow eighth grade students from Rosemont Middle School an opportunity to see what the various art departments offer, too.

“It is also an [opportunity] to let the community know what we are doing [in the arts],” Corey said.

The event begins at 6 p.m. in the CVHS art gallery located in building 4000. The art exhibit will go from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. a performance by Dance, Choral Music, Instrumental Music and Drama will be held at the MacDonald Auditorium at the school. A slideshow of artists’ work will be included at that performance.

There is no admittance fee to attend the performances.
