Los Angeles County Sheriff detectives are continuing their investigation into the murder of a woman whose body was dumped on the La Crescenta Avenue exit off the Foothill (210) freeway on April 29 shortly after 5 p.m.
The woman identified as Adriane Arzumanyan, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, Aram Sarukhanyan, 27, of Tujunga was the victim’s cousin.
“There were multiple gun shots [to the victim],” said L.A. County Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter in an earlier interview.
After allegedly shooting Arzumanyan, the suspect drove eastbound on the Foothill (210) freeway, then southbound on the Glendale (5) freeway and pulled his vehicle over near the Mountain Street exit. It was there that he shot himself in an apparent suicide attempt. He was transported to a local hospital.
Sarukhanyan was released the hospital on May 10 and has been arrested for murder. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Detectives are seeking a filing of one count of murder with a firearm with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
