The ringing of the school bells throughout the Crescenta Valley signaled not only the beginning of a new school year, but also traffic woes as seen here at the onramp to the 210 freeway at La Crescenta Avenue on Thursday morning. When the meters were first turned on at the end of the last school year, morning commuters battled for placement on the 210 – two cars at a time – causing traffic to back up as far north as La Crescenta Elementary School at Prospect Avenue.
