The driver of a red 2000 Ford Mustang said he blacked out while stopped southbound at an intersection in the 4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday. His car rolled forward and hit series of parked cars, creating a domino effect.

The driver an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male passenger who was sitting in the backseat of the vehicle at the time of the crash, had just picked up a female friend, 18, who was working at KFC nearby.

No one in the car was injured.

After turning down Ocean View and stopping at the Foothill Boulevard intersection, the driver reportedly passed out, and the car drifted into the intersection, barley missing a sheriff’s car driving on Foothill Boulevard and crashed into red Chevrolet Neon. The accident also damaged a Toyota Camry and a Honda Prelude.

“I just blacked out,” said the driver, who was awake and alert as California Highway Patrol arrived on scene to assess the damage.  “When I saw the lights [of the police units] that’s when I woke up.”

The passengers reported they started yelling at their friend once the car started coasting into the intersection not realizing he has blacked out.

The accident is under investigation by CHP.
