“Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness” Classes Continue
St. Luke’s Anglican Church continues its classes on “Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual” on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. These classes, led by Rector Fr. Rob Holman, take place on the fourth Friday of every month at the offices of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3901 Foothill Blvd., second floor, La Crescenta. The monthly healing classes include music, teaching and healing prayer according to the Christian faith. Jesus loved to heal and St. Luke’s hope is to offer a healing touch to all who attend, including those suffering and seeking healing due to divorce or other relational issues.
Every member of the community is welcomed and invited to attend. For more information, visit www.HealLaCrescenta.org or contact the St. Luke’s Anglican Church offices at (818) 249-5100.
Pandamania Comes To St. Bede
Local children will be offered a fun-filled experience when St. Bede The Venerable Roman Catholic Church offers a week of “Pandamania ~ Where God Is Wild About You,” the church’s theme for this year’s vacation Bible camp. The camp runs July 25-29 from 9 a.m. to noon on the church campus of St. Bede. The fee is $55 per child ($35 for additional family members).
The camp will be open to all children entering kindergarten through the fifth grade. Registration forms and additional information can be found at www.bede.org or by contacting Moira Arjani at (818) 949-4323.
Tuesday Table Talk
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Bethel Church will offer a showing of the film “Soul Surfer” preceded by a potluck supper. The potluck starts at 6:30 p.m. and the video starts at 7:15 p.m. followed by dessert and discussion at about 9:00 p.m.
This inspiring film dramatizes the real-life story of Bethany Hamilton, a Hawaiian teen who bravely returns to competitive surfing after losing her left arm in a vicious shark attack. On the road to recovery, the gutsy young wave-rider relies on determination, faith and family. This is a free screening.
