Crescenta Valley Sheriffs are asking for the public’s help with information concerning an attempted burglary on Wednesday about noon in La Crescenta.
A resident in the 4600 block of Glenwood Avenue had left her home for only a short time. She returned and found a strange man inside her home. When he saw the woman he fled the area, running northbound on Glenwood Avenue.
“A lot of times with these types of burglaries the suspect will knock on the resident’s door first to see if they are home,” said Sgt. Ray Harley. If the resident is home the suspect will usually say they are looking for someone and use a random name. If the resident doesn’t answer the door then many times they will enter the home, Harley said.
The man is described as black, in his 20s and at the time of the incident was wearing a white shirt and black pants.
Anyone who may have seen the suspect running from the home or noticed him in the neighborhood prior or after the attempted burglary should contact the CV Sheriff’s Station at (818) 248-3464.
