Back to School Means Back to Routine
Summer is a time to kick back, relax, stay up late, sleep in, go on vacation or just sit on the porch and watch the sunset. While this is great for the soul and needed for recuperation, structured routine is just as important in your life and the success of your business. One of the most successful habits you can develop for your life and business is to create a daily and weekly routine. Routines help keep us consistently focused on our most important goals every day and every week. Daily routines are easy to create, but require hard work to follow. They require discipline. They say it takes 21 days to turn any regular activity you do into a habit. So you need to make a commitment to your routine.
The first step to a successful routine is to set goals for yourself and your business. Once you have your goals, write them down and make them your priority. Every day you should make a to-do list not only for your business but for your personal life as well. Put the most difficult or challenging items at the top of your list so you ensure that they get done. Make sure you schedule time for yourself and your family. Your personal time needs to be a part of your daily routine. At the end of the day, plan for the next day. Look at your business calendar for the next day so you know what to prepare for or look at your personal calendar so you do not forget any important things you want to do or get done. Also, make sure you get lots of rest and good sleep. This will work wonders on your energy level and patience.
Most people spend each day “hoping” they get their important work done, often times neglecting themselves or their families because “issues” that arise during the day distract them from their goals and routine. That is exactly what a routine will help you avoid. Routine helps provide predictability so that you have a better chance of getting done the things that are most important to you. Remember, if you “fall off the wagon” and do not stick to your routine one day, do not just give up. Get back to it the next day and before you know it your routine will become a habit.
Luckily in Montrose-Verdugo City there are things that you can do to relax and have fun after a long week of work and commitments and routines.
