The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce is recognizing the good works of local businesses and residents and the surprised recipients now need to decide what to wear to the 2011 Recognition Awards on Oct. 27.
Each year the Chamber receives nominations of people from all walks of life with one common goal of serving their community. A Chamber committee reviews all the nominations and presents them to the executive board for their vote.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce surprise awardees at their place of business or at local meetings. The awardees so far are CVHS band director Mat Schick, CVHS senior student Molly Shelton, CERT organizers Paul and Lisa Dutton, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Marcelo Ruiz, Neil Ryan, Camille Levee, California Highway Patrol Award Officer Ming-Yang hsu and Glendale Police Officers Sue Shine and Mario Yagoda.
