Time to Celebrate!

Well, the time has arrived! This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. we celebrate our two year anniversary with the Early Rodders at Crescenta Valley Park. The Early Rodders are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a big “ta-doo” at the park complete with live music, dancing, food trucks and of course – cars! More than 150 vintage, classic and exotics will be on display at CV Park. The Early Rodders were kind enough to extend an invitation to CV Weekly to be a part of their celebration and we couldn’t say “yes” fast enough.

When thinking of our anniversary, we considered ways to say thanks to those subscribers – and advertisers – who have made the commitment to support the CV Weekly. I’m happy to report that we think we’ve hit on a great idea. We have put the finishing touches on a rewards program that we’re eager to share.

Our subscribers will be receiving a rewards card that can be presented to our participating advertisers displaying the decal (both the card and decal pictured above). These advertisers will offer a reward specifically for CV Weekly subscribers. For example, a restaurant might offer buy one, get one half off. A repair shop might offer a discount on services. You get the idea. The reward may vary from day to day, or remain the same … it’s up to the merchant. Just look for the decal and present your card to see how you’ll be rewarded for your support of the community’s favorite newspaper.

For our subscribers who visit our booth at CV Park on Saturday, we’ll have your card ready for pick up. If you can’t make it, don’t worry – we’ll pop one in an issue of your home delivered paper or mail it out to you. If you’re not a subscriber, plan to stop by on Saturday, sign up for home delivery (it’s just $1 a week) and we’ll be happy to give you a card.

And if that isn’t enough, Leon Bakery & Café will be providing a cake for us to serve between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you haven’t had Leon’s baked goods before let me just say that we’re serving one piece of cake per person, because you’ll certainly be tempted to ask for seconds!

Eiji’s Flowers in La Cañada will be decorating our booth with some of the prettiest petals in town. Thank you to Bonners Party Rentals who is providing tables, linens and anything else we need.

It’s been a wonderful two years and we’re excited to celebrate this anniversary with you. Thank you for supporting the Crescenta Valley Weekly and I hope to see you on Saturday at Crescenta Valley Park, 3901 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta.
