No Yolk – Eggs were Falling from the Sky

It wasn’t the sky falling on Oct. 14, but eggs.

The occasion was the annual Lincoln Elementary School egg drop and family dinner held on the school campus. All Lincoln students were invited to carefully swaddle an egg then hand it off to members of the Glendale Fire Department who then dropped it off their 60-foot hook and ladder truck. There were a variety of titles to be won, including best in engineering, school spirit and design.

Principal Stephen Williams and PTA president Christine Cassin awarded students for principal’s choice, firefighter’s choice, Mr. Williams look-a-like and smallest.

Though some of the eggs cracked at landing, others miraculously survived the death-defying fall. Family, friends and students cheered on the firefighters and participants.

Award winners were best engineering (as determined by Glendale Fire Dept.) – Maya Jane Whitaker and Christopher Lee; best school spirit/PTA award – Audrey Ranek; best design/PTA award – Kenzie Izzard; Mr. Williams look-a-like – Keeley Gibson Hope and Emily Chapman; smallest design – Katie Goldsmith and Nicky Goldsmith.
