Thanksgiving at Twigs and Things
There is a comment I’ve heard from customers many times over the years and it goes like this, “I see a lot of Halloween and Christmas decorations when I shop but everyone seems to forget about Thanksgiving.” Now I know the answer. Go to Twigs and Things (2266 Honolulu Ave.)! This store in the heart of Montrose revels in all things Thanksgiving. There are pilgrims and turkeys galore as well as all things gold, orange and brown.
Twigs and Things is owned by Cindy Redder, a very “down to earth,” kind woman who loves doing custom arrangements. While I was there working on this article a customer picked out a basket and a pumpkin and asked Cindy to create something for her. The items were then placed on the work desk for future creation and pickup. Now who else does this type of thing anymore? And at a reasonable price, I might add.
Cindy started Twigs and Things back in 1997 after managing Twigs and Greens down the street back in the ’80s. Her specialties include candles and candle accessories. You will find Yankee candles, decorative tapers and column candles. There is also a vast assortment of dried flowers, flags and cute ceramics all changing with the seasons. One of their bestsellers right now are twisted, all beeswax tapers selling for $19.95 a set. This is a fun store to browse for all those special little things that make your home cozy and smelling nice.
Now Thanksgiving is coming up and it’s time to start thinking about those things that will make your dinner table special. It’s time for a trip to Twigs and Things. They are open seven days a week for your enjoyment.
