St. Luke’s Anglican Church Prepares for Christmas Projects
St. Luke’s Anglican Church is preparing for a number of upcoming Christmas ministry projects to benefit children, give thanks to military soldiers and support young mothers-to-be, among other annual Christmas projects.
St. Luke’s will participate in Operation Christmas Child, which provides Christmas boxes filled with children’s toys, socks, shoes, T-shirts, school supplies and toiletries to children all over the world. This ministry specifically reaches children who would not otherwise receive Christmas gifts. It is run by Samaritan’s Purse and Franklin Graham, evangelist Billy Graham’s son.
Last year, St. Luke’s donated 128 boxes and this year hopes to donate 200 boxes. The community is encouraged to participate by attending St. Luke’s 10:15 am family service on Nov. 13 to make either a monetary or shoe box donation. Donations should be given to ministry leader Kelly Ralston. Shoe box donations can include such items as toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, school supplies, socks, shoes and T-shirts.
St. Luke’s Anglican services are held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Chapel, 300 Vallejo Dr., Glendale. For more information, check the website www.stlukesanglican.org or contact Parish Administrator Kay Wisdom at (818) 249-5100 or kay@stlukesanglican.org.
