Marie McFadden, born June 13, 1919, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 6.

Marie was born in Knowlton, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Celia Root. She touched the lives of many with her abundant life as a head bank teller, teacher at John Muir Elementary and a real estate agent.

Marie was a devoted Catholic at Holy Redeemer Church in Montrose. She enjoyed spending her mornings with a church service followed by a coffee social with friends. When she was at home, she never missed a Lakers game, which she enjoyed watching with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Harold and son Ronald. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Kirker,; grandchildren Patrick Kirker, Randall (Sandra) Kirker, Christy Kirker, Deanna (Malcolm) Cleary, Gloria (Michael) Phillips; great-grandchildren Keith Cleary, Baillie Kirker, Maggie Cleary, Shayne Philips, Roree Philips and Jessica Kirker. She was also preceded in death by Michael Schlagel;.

A visitation was held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at Crippen Mortuary Chapel. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, Nov. 11 at Holy Redeemer Church.

Immediately following was an interment at San Fernando Mission cemetery.

She was deeply loved by her entire family.
