Veterans and community members gathered at Two Strike Park on Friday for a celebration of Veteran’s Day. The day was all about honoring those who have served the United States in the military.
The day started early in the morning with a vigil at the park and ended with a flag retirement ceremony hosted by Boy Scout Troop 288. Those in attendance dropped strips of worn American flags into a fire as they filed past.
The day was also a time to remind people of the newly formed Two Strike Memorial Committee. The organization is tasked with raising funds for a memorial at Two Strike. At present only a small memorial stands at the site. The new memorial will be larger and include names of those from the Crescenta Valley who gave their lives while serving in the military.
