Glendale Girls AYSO 88 G16 team brought home the gold medal for the fourth consecutive year at Pasadena’s annual MST tournament held over Thanksgiving weekend.

The winning team was coached by Ed Mosessian, Aramazd Davidian and Serj Stepanian.

The tournament began at 8 a.m. on a cold Friday morning with Glendale hosting Santa Monica. They won that match 2-0.

In the early afternoon, the G16 girls were up against an experienced Burbank team, but Glendale’s experience was no match for its neighbors. At the end, the score read 3-0 Glendale.

Coming off those victories on Saturday morning, the girls took on Quartz Hill. Glendale was still hot, however, and again beat their competitor 3-0.

Perhaps the toughest competition took place Saturday afternoon when Glendale took on champion contender Boyle Heights.

It was a hard fought battle, but Glendale managed to get nine out of 10 possible points, ending with a score of 3-1.

With one game left, Glendale had already won the gold with 38 out of a possible 40 points, taking the pressure off for the remaining match. Glendale took the opportunity to relax and have fun, enjoying the game with no pressure to win.
