Donations Still Needed For Sheriff’s Food and Toy Drive

There is still time to donate to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff Food and Toy Drive. Volunteers and deputies will be delivering the packages of toys and food to families in need throughout the area on Saturday morning.

Crescenta Valley High School Associated Student Body helped the food and toy drive by collecting items on campus.

“We had an ASB representative go to each classroom and explain [the sheriff’s program] and asked for toys, canned goods and hygiene products,” said Amber Alsamman, ASB student representative.

Alsamman said several classes came through with toys and other items although donations were down from last year.

The food and toy drive is sponsored by the CV Sheriff Volunteers. Lisa Dutton, volunteer, said donations for toys are down while food donations are strong.

Those who would like to donate can do so by dropping off items at Ralphs in La Crescenta and La Cañada Flintridge, and Vons Market in La Cañada as well as several other areas around Crescenta Valley including the CV Sheriff’s Station at 4554 Briggs Ave.
