Members of the local Kiwanis Club-sponsored Key Club at La Cañada High School hit the streets on Saturday to collect books as part of a project for their Key Club Halfwayers After Club at LCHS.
The books being collected from La Cañada Flintridge homes will be given to the Los Angeles Unified School District for classroom use.
Collection efforts were disappointing as many residents were caught unaware of the collection. Spokesman Dean Wyrzyhowski said that perhaps people needed some time to collect books and he has offered to return to homes to pick them up. Donors can reach him at (818) 400-3600. Students can then arrange a time for pick up.
