Dec. 21
1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard in La Cañada, on Dec. 12 a man  reported that he had bought five iPhones from another man who had advertised them for sale via Craig’s List. The man contacted the seller via text message. The two men met at Starbucks in La Cañada to complete the purchase. The man bought all five phones, at over $500 each. The phones were in a sealed package, according to the sheriff’s report. A few days later on Dec. 14 the victim contacted the suspect again via text asking if he could purchase more phones. Once again the men met at Starbucks and the phones were exchanged for cash at the same price. The buyer was not able to sell the phones so he decided to open one and use himself. That is when he found the phone was a shell and was empty. He opened two additional boxes and discovered they too were fake. The man reported to the sheriffs that before he had placed the second order someone had contacted him and said he wanted to purchase several phones. The man now thinks the seller and the caller were working together. The suspect who sold the fraudulent phones is described as Armenian, 5’ 4” tall, 200 pounds with black hair.

4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue in La Crescenta, the stained glass window at First Baptist Church was damaged when someone threw a hard object at the window sometime between Dec. 16-18.

Dec. 18
5500 block of Ocean View Boulevard in La Cañada, a laptop computer,  Nikon camera and cellphone charger were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

Dec. 17
4500 block of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, a 24-year-old La Crescenta man was cited for riding a skateboard in the middle of the road and on suspicion of possession of marijuana.
300 block of Baptiste Way in La Cañada, a wreath was stolen from the front door of a home overnight.

Dec. 15
3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a laptop computer and wedding ring were stolen and several rooms were ransacked in an unlocked apartment from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dec. 11
800 block of Milmada Drive in La Cañada, a briefcase and personal items were stolen and the rear passenger side door of a vehicle was smashed between 1 a.m. to 8 a.m.
