Caryl Bud Warner lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 5. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, June, his six children, Jana Arnds, Cheryl Stelling, Caryl Warner, Jr., Julie Warner, Jeffrey Warner and Christopher Warner, his 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bud was born May 4, 1938 in Glendale, Calif. to Harry and Shelia Warner and grew up on Catalina Island. He graduated from Avalon High School in 1956 and moved back to Glendale to attend Glendale College.

Bud had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and rode and raced in the desert with the Islanders and Sunland Shamrocks, winning numerous trophies and awards. He instilled his love of motorcycles in his sons and grandsons.

After establishing his family in La Crescenta, Bud attained his contractor’s license and owned and operated La Cañada Roofing until his retirement. He was well respected in the community.

A private memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bud’s name be made to The American Cancer Society – Foothills Relay for Life, 50 N. Hill Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91106, or www.foothillsrelayforlife.com.
