La Cañada Flintridge Community Center will be holding priority registration for the 2012-13 school year through Jan. 27.

Students who qualify for priority registration are those who are currently enrolled in the program, siblings of students currently enrolled in the program, or siblings of students who attended the school from fall 2008 through spring 2011.

In addition, a random selection lottery will be held for all other interested families in early February. Children must be 3 years old by Dec. 2, 2012 and potty-trained to qualify. To receive a lottery form, call the school with the parent’s name, child’s name, birth date, address and phone number. All lottery forms must be turned into the school by Friday, Jan. 27 with a non-refundable $85 registration fee.

School tours are by appointment only. To schedule a tour of the school or enter a child in the lottery, contact school director Danielle Caputo at (818) 790-8687.

The preschool is an extension of the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge and offers  a half-day program for children ages 3 through 5.  The preschool strives to provide a warm, safe and nurturing atmosphere with a wide variety of age appropriate activities designed to promote the social, intellectual, physical and emotional aspects of learning. Teachers work to create an environment for the children to learn through active exploration and discovery, stretching their imaginations and extending their learning by stimulating their thinking.

A weekly music program for all ages is provided in conjunction with Dance and Jingle. An interactive garden where children learn from a garden teacher each week and grow their own vegetables is also part of the curriculum.
