Frank’s Famous Deli: Open For Business
and Look for Changes in Montrose
Yes, there are many changes in Montrose, but despite what you may have heard, Frank’s Famous Deli is open for business. In an email sent by owners Roger and Tracy Frey, they welcome the community to continue patronizing their place.
“Dear Frank’s Friends and Loyal Customers, Contrary to recent reports, we are still open. Please stop by and check out the new ‘fun size’ Frank’s. Our smaller size allows us to process your orders more efficiently and with less wait time. We hope to see you soon. Sincerely, Roger & Tracy Frey.”
Frank’s Famous Kitchen & Bakery did close the dining room portion of the Deli at 3315 N. Verdugo Road. They kept six tables for dining, three inside and three outside. They now are focusing on catering, to-go orders and deliveries for customers. In another email from Roger and Tracy, they said, “We thank you so much for all your encouragement and support during these challenging years. Our focus will now be on take out and catering. This is how we started and we hope that with your continued support and by going back to the basics, we will be able to not only survive, but to thrive in the coming years.” The local eatery will offer daily and weekly specials and now serves sandwiches on baked bread and rolls made by Baked on Oceanview.
Here are some other changes coming to Montrose. The Paper Rabbit is moving to 3817½ Ocean View Boulevard just below Florencita Avenue on the west side of the street.
Shoe Fantasy is moving to 3701 Ocean View Boulevard in the Montrose Shopping Park. When they move to the new location, they will start selling more trendy shoes for teenagers because there is a need for that in the area. Starbucks, as you already have heard, is moving onto the corner of Ocean View and Honolulu Avenue. Crossfit Array opened on Honolulu Avenue right next door to Pedal Spin Studio. The Slender Sweet Shoppe is moving from the corner of Verdugo and Honolulu Avenue.
