Pancake Breakfast & Rummage Sale at Dunsmore
Dunsmore Elementary School sixth grade class is hosting a pancake breakfast and rummage sale on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 each. Breakfast includes all you can eat pancakes, two sausages, orange juice and coffee. Proceeds go towards sixth grade trip and promotion.

CVHS Presents Performances of ‘Sweeney Todd,’ ‘Charlie Brown’
Crescenta Valley High School Theater Arts presents the final performances of the musical, “Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street” on March 8, 9, and 10 at 7 p.m. starring Jordon Van Treese, Hope English, Austin Hunt, Adam Proctor,Jenna Schroeder, Michael Naoumovitch and more.

Performances of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” are on March 15, 16, and 17 at 7 p.m. starring Nick Naoumovitch playing Charlie Brown, Ethan Van Treese as Linus, Andrew Hart as Schroeder, Rebecca Thomas as Lucy, Marissa Ontiveros as Sally and Gregory Camperoses as Snoopy.

Reserved tickets are available now for these performances. Ticket prices vary from $5 to $15. Group rates available.

Guinnip, Hovanesyan Vie for Summit
Margaret Guinnip of Tujunga has been selected to represent California as a national youth delegate at the 2012 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.

Anna Hovanesyan, also of Tujunga, has been nominated to represent California as a national youth correspondent to the 2012 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University.

Both girls are students at Notre Dame High School and, if selected, will join a select group of 250 students from across the country to participate in an intensive week-long study. They were chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in their chosen studies.

Assistance League Glendale Offers SAT Seminars
Assistance League Glendale is offering SAT Seminars again this spring for $45. There will be eight two-hour sessions during the month of March. The sessions are held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 314 E. Scholarship Apps Sought
La Crescenta Woman’s Club is offering scholarships to high school seniors. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded, one in the arts and a new $200 scholarship to a student interested in history. Applications are in the CVHS counseling office or on the website lacrescentawomansclub.

Deadline to apply is March 2.

The Kohl’s Department Stores Kohl’s Cares® Scholarship Program will award more than $420,000 in scholarships and prizes, ranging from $50 Kohl’s gift cards to $10,000 scholarships, to more than 2,200 young volunteers who have made a positive impact on their communities.     Nominations for kids ages 6 to 18 will be accepted through March 15 at kohlskids.com. The Verdugo Glen chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) is funding two scholarships through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each. No applications will be accepted after March 31.

Candidates must be women who are citizens of the United States and residents of Los Angeles County; are currently a second year level student at Glendale Community College; are majoring in the field of business; and have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale.

The application will be completed online. A minimum of four eligible applications is required to make both awards. The winners will be notified in May.

The one-time scholarships are not renewable. A check will be issued jointly to the educational institution and the recipient. Funds are limited to tuition, books and fees.

The La Cañada Thursday Club, celebrating its centennial year, announced that applications are now available for its annual scholarship awards. One of the main philanthropic projects of the Club is to encourage the youth of the community in their academic endeavors. Each year members of the La Cañada Thursday Club celebrate the academic achievements of our youth at its May Tea by hosting and honoring the recipients of these annual scholarship awards.

All applicants must live within the boundaries of the La Cañada Flintridge postal district (91011).

Scholarships are based on academic achievement, promise and financial need. Applications will be available at local high schools or by contacting the Scholarship Committee at (818) 952-1856. The application is also available on the club’s website, www.lacanadathursdayclub.org. The deadline for submitting applications is March 11.

Kiwanis Club of Montrose-La Crescenta President Lynn McGinnis invites seniors from Crescenta Valley and Clark Magnet high schools to apply for one of the eight $500 scholarships from the Montrose-La Cresenta Kiwanis Club and one Alvena & Leslie W. Dobbing Memorial Scholarship.

Applications can be obtained from Sungsook Kim or Cheryl Mulvoy at Crescenta Valley and from Valencia Watson at Clark. The completed applications are due at the high schools on March 23.
