Montrose Search and Rescue is responding this morning (Monday) to a call concerning a 70-year-old missing hiker in Angeles National Forest.

“The [70-year-old man] man started hiking on Friday from Switzer Falls to Bear Canyon Junction,” said Lt. Angela Shepard, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

He is reportedly an experienced hiker and had planned to camp through the weekend and return on Sunday. When he didn’t return home, family contacted the sheriff’s department.
