More than 4,400 undergraduate students at the University of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the fall 2011 semester including Matthew Allen Kohorst of La Cañada. He is a senior in management and leadership. He made the honor roll for the School of Business.
The honor roll comprises undergraduates who meet requirements in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and in the schools of allied health; architecture, design and planning; business; education; engineering; journalism; music; nursing; pharmacy; and social welfare.
Honor roll criteria vary among the university’s academic units.

Hallie E. Isquith and Riley J. Newman, both from La Crescenta, have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Drew University. In order to qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or above, which is equivalent to a B+ or better.

Cornell University’s Janice Park of La Cañada has been placed on the dean’s list of the College of Arts and Sciences for Excellence in Scholarship for the fall 2011 semester.

Tiffany Chen of La Cañada, daughter of Jan Shing Chen and Yin Ming Chen, was named to the dean’s list of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., for the 2011 fall semester.
Students must be in the top 20% of Emory College or have approximately a 3.81 grade point average or higher to be named to the dean’s list.

Several local residents made the academic dean’s list at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a fall semester 2011 academic standing of a 3.5 or better grade-point average. They are joined by more than 1,750 other students receiving the same honor.
