La Crescenta Thunder 10U baseball captured the championship in the USSSA Presidents Day weekend tournament.

On Saturday, Thunder took the first two games with stellar defense by only allowing a total of five runs. Returning on Sunday they shut out the next two teams 8-0 and 13-0 to advance to the championship game on Monday.      Thunder was matched up against the Bakersfield Triple Play, a team they had not met before. It was a back and forth battle with Thunder striking first by taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Bakersfield Triple Play jumped ahead 4-2 in the third, but Thunder fought back and regained the lead 5-4  in the fourth inning.

In the fifth, Thunder broke the doors open and never looked back, racking up eight runs. With solid defense and pitching behind them, Thunder only allowed the Bakersfield Triple Play team to score one more run to hold them off and take the USSSA Presidents Day championship.
