In its first competition of the season, the Cheer Squad at Holy Redeemer Middle School brought home the first place trophy. The girls competed at Arcadia High School on Saturday, March 3 at the SHARP International Cheer Competition. Holy Redeemer was entered in the Junior High Cheer Division in the large team category. Winning first place was a confidence builder as the competition season gets underway.
The squad has been working on its routine since September and over the last few weeks the girls extended practice to everyday after school to perfect the routine. Their hard work paid off with the win.
The next step is the CYO, Catholic Youth Organization, cheer competition which will take place on March 24 and the squad will be competing with its show routine and a song routine.
