The 33rd Annual Glendale Quilt Show was held recently at the Burbank Convention Center. La Crescenta resident Esther Norbut took third place for her Birds and Flowers quilt. This dahlia pattern quilt goes under the glass top table on the porch of her friend Charlene Downs representing her garden.

In 2000, Esther bought the pattern “Block Party” and the fabric to go with it. Over the years, she would make a block or two with no two squares alike. The quilt is for her husband Don in his preferred colors.

Don and Esther Norbut are active in the Crescenta Valley community and represented the new senior organization Aster in the last Montrose Parade. She loves to quilt and many in the community have been the proud recipients of some of her wonderful creations.
