The “Holidays Abroad” Fashion Show and Luncheon was a sellout for the La Crescenta Woman’s Club on Saturday.

While the club has been in existence for over 100 years, the models and fashions were young, coming from Veronica M in Pasadena and Los Angeles and from Holiday Hats & Gowns in Montrose which added an elegant touch to the day.

Models were Tamara Hughes, Crystal Polischeck, Amira Smith, Breanna Coe, Gloria Beyer, Mallory Mudie, Erika Schmeid, Lauren Barton Hassani and Marilyn Wright representing Juniors, Evening and General members.

Club president Carol Huntwork welcomed all, the United States Marines presented the color guard and Jeannie Long and trumpeter Jim Bynum led the national anthem.

Auctioneer Dea McCrory oversaw the bidding with big ticket items that included an International Studio Services tour of favorite TV shows and the L.A. NASCAR thrill of racing your own car at Irwindale Speedway. Other popular items were a Dodger box seat basket and a Temecula hot air balloon ride. Silent auction and opportunity prizes gave everyone a chance to take home something special.

The fashion show luncheon has been the backbone of the club over the years. St. James/Holy Redeemer students were the servers and received compliments on their pleasant attitude and ability to make their table members happy.

Daryl Baker Pollock and Lynne Roberto chaired the event with most members contributing in some way.
