After over 50 years of successful Easter carnivals, the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce held yet another this past weekend, April 6 through April 8. Rides, games, food and live music held at Sunland Park kept families occupied on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Easter egg hunts were held for children on both Saturday and Sunday with a special appearance from the Easter bunny. Ronald McDonald also made a guest appearance to visit the kids and participate in Saturday’s festivities.
The entertainment was ongoing, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the live music, carnival treats and a wide variety of games, funhouses and rides. Children danced with their parents to songs performed by bands such as Papa Stew’s Band on Saturday and The Happiness Country Band and Mighty Joe Young Band on Sunday. Being sure to take advantage of the rare opportunity, parents made sure to get pictures of their children with the Easter Bunny that also participated in the many activities.
The carnival packed up Sunday night but will be back next year for another encore.
Sponsors of the event included Century 21 Crest, C&M Printing, Pet Medical Center – Sunland and Mary Kay Cosmetics, Inc. – Sue Akin.
