4400 block of Oak Grove Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, an iPhone, phone case and several credit cards were stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the La Cañada High School parking lot between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

4100 Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, someone broke the back window of a home and stole personal items sometime between May 1-6.

Foothill and Ocean View boulevards in La Cañada, a 21-year-old Victorville woman was arrested for suspicion of possession of heroin and paraphernalia at 12:15 a.m.

May 5
1100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a deputy reported that while he was driving on Foothill Boulevard he witnessed a vehicle driving very slowly, and then braking suddenly along the road in the 4400 block of Chevy Chase Drive. After a closer look, the deputy realized that two men, later identified as a Pacoima man, 25, and a Burbank man, 26, were walking alongside the vehicle and allegedly opening mailboxes. The driver, later identified as a San Gabriel woman, 26, would travel slowly alongside. The deputy discovered several pieces of mail that appeared to be stolen in the suspects’ vehicle at 3:30 a.m.

2500 block of Piedmont Avenue in La Crescenta, several gift cards were stolen from a locked vehicle. The vehicle’s moon roof was open at the time. The incident occurred overnight.

May 4
2600 block of Mayfield Avenue in La Crescenta, while taking a report at one location a deputy was contacted by a neighbor who said that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and took a wallet overnight.

2600 block of Mayfield Avenue in La Crescenta, a suitcase with costume jewelry was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

2900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 49-year-old Oakland woman was arrested on suspicion of receiving property, identity theft and burglary after she attempted to obtain a cash advance at a Chase Bank from a credit card that allegedly did not belong to her. After an investigation it was discovered that she had attempted to get a cash advance from another bank earlier. A teller realized the card and Kentucky driver’s license the woman presented appeared to be a forgery. Deputies found several credit cards and other personal information not in her name in the woman’s possession. The event occurred at 3:20 p.m.

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, an 81-year-old woman reported that while she was shopping at Vons she began a conversation with another woman described as black, 40 to 45 years old, 5’8” tall and 155 pounds. They spoke about cat food for a while then, according to the report, the conversation ended abruptly and the woman walked away.
When the victim went to check out at the register she discovered that her pocketbook, which contained cash and credit cards, was missing at 1 p.m.

May 3
5000 block of Merita Place in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident came home to find his front door unlocked, which was locked when he left earlier in the day. Several rooms were ransacked between 9:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

1300 block of Salisbury Court in La Cañada, a glass sliding door was smashed, several pieces of jewelry were stolen and rooms were ransacked between 7:45 a.m. and 5:20 p.m.

1400 block of Flanders Road in La Cañada, a woman arrived home and discovered her living room had been ransacked, her safe was in the middle of the floor and it had been pried open. Paperwork that was in the safe had been thrown throughout the room.  A laptop computer and cash was stolen between 6:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 50.8 in Angeles National Forest, a generator and numerous construction tools were stolen from a locked trailer at Newcomb’s Ranch between midnight and 7 a.m.

4400 block of Rockland Place in Montrose, several power tools were stolen and the rear passenger side window was smashed in a vehicle overnight.
