Wanted: Cancer Survivors!

If you are a cancer survivor, we want to honor you at the American Cancer Society Foothills Relay for Life at 9 a.m. Saturday morning (May 12) on the athletic field at Clark Magnet High School, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta … a few blocks north of Foothill Boulevard.

The survivor lap is the first lap of the 24-hour event. Survivors need to support each other and celebrate victories over cancer. One lap is about 1/5 of a mile and takes about five minutes to walk. Participants receive a T-shirt, breakfast and a survivor gift packet. All is needed is to show up, register at the Survivor Tent at arrival and meet other winners. If the survivor’s caregiver can come, he or she may join the survivor lap between the first and second turns. Though the victory over cancer may have begun alone, caregivers helped along the way. Survivors may want to start the initial lap alone, then may have caregivers join.

You should be proud of yourselves for beating this disease. Please join the celebration.
